Geoscience Australia publishes nationwide 1:250,000 topographic sheets and is also the custodian of historic 1:25,000, 1:50,000, and 1:100,000 topographic sheets.

Note that the 1:250,000 topographic series is currently being updated and has been renamed as AUSTopo - Australian Digital Topographic Map Series. We will update as they are published.
